I am working on a rolling contract with watersports specialist O’Neill Europe, creating newsletters, social media posts and tailored editorial to promote the brand, its ambassadors, products and marketing projects. These have included The O’Neill Blue Project; an initiative to create sustainable surfwear from recycled beach plastic.
Another example of my work for O’Neill is the creation of copy for their competition, Walk For Powder. I was responsible for writing Facebook, Instagram and Youtube posts to attract readers to the competition page on O’Neill’s main site. Here, I generated the words for instructional videos by brand ambassador, Jeremy Jones, and copy to promote and explain the competition.
Over 15 thousand people entered the competition, from which 10 winners were selected to go on the trip of a lifetime to Lake Tahoe, with Jeremy Jones. Again, I supplied copy for social media updates from the trip and wrote a 1000 article on the completion of the adventure. I was also asked to write an accompanying newsletter and press release to promote the article and project.
